Electrification Driving Growth
Electrification remains at the heart of MG’s success, with 91% of sales now having an electrified powertrain – Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and fully electric (BEV) models.

MG’s BEV sales have grown by 74% so far this year, outperforming the wider BEV market growth of 27%. This surge has been driven by the brand’s expanding and comprehensive range of electric vehicles launched over the past two years.

The multi-award-winning MG HS Plug-in Hybrid has been a standout performer, with sales up 67% year-on-year, making it the UK’s 5th best-selling PHEV.

MG has also cemented its position as the UK’s 2nd best-selling manufacturer for hybrid vehicles, with both the MG ZS and MG HS ranking among the top five best-selling hybrid vehicles in the UK year-to-date.

David Allison, Director of Product and Planning, MG Motor UK commented: “our spectacular half year sales success is due to a number of factors, but principally due to the strategy of developing advanced technology and efficient electrified powertrains across a growing range of models. We are also delighted to see such a strong growth in Private Retail sales, demonstrating that the UK customer is recognising the unique blend of advanced technology and outstanding value for money offered across the MG range.
